any of u have experience with cats aging? and the possible issues or changes that come with it..
my cat nipsu will turn 10 this summer and her appetite has rly dropped.. not like dangerously, she does eat but when she was younger she would eat two bags of wet food every day and still meow to get more and usually would get more..and treats of course.. but now she cant even finish one bag.. she eats like maybe half of it and even to eat that amount she takes breaks and then goes back to eating.. :/ and shes become even more picky with her food, if its really watery she rly just wont eat it, it needs to be like one big piece... and the dry food she gets, the one i buy is grain free good quality food, but now my grandpa has been buying her food that has grain as the main ingredient and shes been eating that more happily now so idk if i should allow that with the other food bc at least she will eat even though i know the other food is better for cats..
it's so sad because shes not like chubby in the first place shes always been skinny so i'm scared if her appetite keeps being like this shes gonna get too skinny. of course if that happened i would take her see a vet but im just really worried for her and anxious.. sorry if this was long but share ur experiences if u have any!

i thought about that too, but like her teeth look really fine and i've always bought her things that should make the risk of anything like that smaller but yeah guess it could still be something related to that.. i'm actually thinking i'll go see a vet with her soon, possibly next month, but meanwhile i'm wondering why it could be.. and mom keeps saying nipsu is getting old and the possibilities for illnesses that could show up soon are endless....like literally any time nipsu acts a bit odd my mom is like "get ready for the worst!"

i think it's still considered a senior cat at this age though, i really hope nipsu lives to twenty but from what i've read the age can already affect them at like 9 years old too, like slowing down and needing to switch to senior cat food etc

every old cat is different but ten can be old.  just know that when you take an old cat to the vet they might just start reccomending to put the cat down

if the cat isn't eating, start feeding them less food more often.  also just begin to make them more comfortable.and just give them more petting.  they'll start sleeping more and that's ok

but 10 is like entering old age but is not old.  my old age cat is 16 right now

thank u sm!! calms me down a little bit.. maybe i just worry because of how my whole family talks about her, like i mentioned before how my mom talks, my grandpa is the same, he keeps saying she's really old :/ but i definitely try to do my best so she will feel as comfortable as possible

yeah don't worry, she is getting older but isn't in that really elder stage yet.  our cat blackie is 15 or 16 and has cysts all over her and prbably has cancer ... is frantic, sleeps all day, keeps everyone up at night, likes to pee wherever she wants ... but she also runs around outside and is still super intelligent and aware.  we know if we take her to a vet we'll have to put her down so we're just waiting until we know she's not really aware and able to move around.
