Ouch, do you have eyedrops?
Mine always look like that when I sleep with open eyes again, they dry out and get infected because I'm sleeping below a vent

well not because I want to :d the muscles in my lids are a bit short so my eyes don't close fully, has been an issue since I've been a baby, but it's not so pronounced. My brother hates it though, because whenever I sleep with an open door, you can see me from my feet up and that makes them look even more open and he then feels observed when going into his room :d
yeah, do buy some. especially when you're tired, you'll blink less often which will cause your eye to dry out and if your eyes are sensitive, they'll get red faster. Add irritation from rubbing them and boom, you look like a stoner who hasn't had a sober moment in months. The moment you realise your eyes produce gunk or that you have stretchy slimy filaments in them, go see a doctor, that's an infection. You can clear them out by yourself by keeping your eye clean, using eyedrops a lot and occasionally rinsing your eyes occasionally, but if it doesn't get better in a day or so, definitely go see a doctor.
Also, try placing lukewarm wet towels over your eyes if they feel dry and scratchy (closed eyes), this will moisten the area around the eyes and the warmth will soften any hardened secretion you had.

yeah, that's just dryness and irritation, for me that usually goes away half an hour to an hour after I added some eyedrops and sometimes I need to add a second drop a few hours later, but then it's all good and dandy again
but yes, sleep also will help a lot
