this one girl in my class is legitimately INSANE
i had her in my section in the first week and she was so disrespectful to some of the people in my class. she was being blatantly flippant when people were sharing their past (we are in an anthropology of food class), sharing their knowledge about culture, talking about the readings. she was saying how much she hated all of the readings, how stupid they were, she even went as far as to try to tell people words they could and could not say, things they could and could not identify with.
ok i am just gonna mark her off as the crazy girl in class, and she might have some kind of thing where she can't read the room and figure out boundaries. there's always one!
anyway today she started popping off to the TEACHER. we read this book about this guy who is black/jew/gay and it's basically his food history which is fascinating and how he comes to terms with his mixed background. well she gets on the mic without being called on and legit says
"i now understand why he's saying ME, ME, ME. because at the end of this book he MUST have a recipe on how to cook himself! you can know the history of beef, you can know the history of pork, but he's going to have to cook an entire person!!!"
the teacher actually stopped her which was good and told her to rein it in, but JESUS christ she is going bonkers.
like it's so disrespectful
to be telling people what you can/can't say but then turning around and saying that o_0
