how big is your home?

i'm mostly contemplating how much space i'll actually need and use once i'm on my own again. my last place was a 25m2 studio and i feel sort of claustrophobic about tiny spaces (or big square footage with a bad layout). i'm going to see this one place tomorrow that has like 10/10 location for me and the rent is reasonable, but it's a 30m2 studio that's basically just one big square shaped room. i've been sketching the layout from the pics available and honestly i can't decide whether i feel like i need more space/a separate bedroom.

i've sent a million emails and applications and there are a couple gorgeous 1 bedrooms in the area i have my eye on too, but the prices obviously go up and idk if it'd just make me unreasonably nervous to not be absolutely sure how long i can afford to stay. tbh it's probably not going to be a problem.

i guess i'm so anxious about having to move out that i'm trying to make impossible decisions beforehand, i don't have enough information to make any yet. i've been stressing about the thought of having to pick a place before i've heard from any of the others so much that i'm surprised that my head isn't visibly spinning

tldr i need to get a new flat (preferably this month but i can stay with family if i don't) and it's no fun. tell me about your place if you want to!!

60m2, 1 bedroom apt
it's me, my partner and my two cats
woulda been roomy enough if it wasn't for the bedroom layout (it's narrow af but long so we could barely fit the bed) n i wouldn't mind a larger living room
we do have a huge ass kitchen tho
wouldn't mind NOT having that

i think whether an apartment feels too small or not has lots to do with the layout
like this one is big but feels sorta small because 1. narrow bedroom 2. narrow sorta corridor between the front door, the kitchen and the living room
the entire place is just... narrow but long

63m2. a two room apartment for 5063 kr a month
and i think it's perfect for me. it's only me and my cat. and we live on ground floor, a ten minute walk from the city center, in a calm area near the water, so i can easily let my cat out

i get uncomfortable in spaces where the proportions feel somehow off like your place sounds like. it can made work really well too with some planning, trial and error and just lucking out.

also i pay 10k kr a month
one ok size bathroom, tinyyy kitchen, but i hate making food so.
The ceiling is very tall so it feels bigger than it is.
A huge window which is nice.
I do live on the fourth floor so the stairs are tiring sometimes.

they do feel off but it makes more sense when considering the house is what a hundred years old???? looks very 1920s-ish to me, but could be 30s too
high ceiling, i like that a lot

i hate that the builders code in my country requires every new house to be built to fit a wheelchair, regardless of if it's even wheelchair accessible. i like being able to move around efficiently too, but i'm looking into older buildings because i don't want my home to be like 1/3 bathroom as well

maybe you should look for an apartment that is a little bigger than the ones you've had before? bc of the claustrophic feeling, just to be safe
and usually when you find "the one" you can feel it, don't choose and apartment that doesn't give you the right feelings, if you know what i mean? sometimes i enter an apartment and i know instantly that i don't want to live there

me and my bf live in an 50m2 apartment now, but we're moving to an 75m2 in april which is frikking exciting

I think mine is 47,5m2, which is pretty perfect for me since I live alone.
My two previous apartments were around 37m2, which were also fine and I would be perfectly happy living in an apartment that size again.
