i got offers from two places actually, and i decided to go with a small-ish studio apartment smack in the middle of the city i'm moving to. i hope the landlord makes a few changes to the lease tomorrow that i requested so that i can sign it and start getting the necessary adult things out of the way, like insurance and electricity........ i'm stupid stressed about it

but what i'm really excited about is finding a flat with tons of potential, both aesthetically and practically. and the landlord is even willing to pay for some wall paint etc if the changes i make increase the apartments value, which means that i have permission to get rid of the (poorly hung) wallpaper and pick a paint for the place with no cost. and i can do a little work here and there with my own money too, i'm allowed to do pretty much anything paint-wise etc if it can be restored to basically all-white when i move out. like i was thinking about going through the grouts of the bathroom floor with a white grout pen to make it look fresh, and maybe adding some pops of colour with painting the visible water pipes under the sink etc.

i'm also planning on actually changing the kitchens layout by adding a dishwasher in addition of the washing machine that's already installed if it's possible technically and cost-wise, and then building cabinetry to fit them from excess timber from my mom's house renovation. we're negotiating on who's paying for the dishwasher and changes to the plumbing with the landlord, he hasn't given any final answer yet but it seems like he might actually pay most/all of it. and i've been thinking about tiling over the existing laminate kitchen backsplash if i can get my hands on some cheap or even free tiles......i'm so excited to get a cool ass apartment that's basically just a business investment to the owner, so he doesn't really care what i do with the place as long as it's presentable (and preferably adds to the resale/renting value).

i'll probably keep rambling about my ideas for the place in this thread, join me if u feel like it, i'd love to hear about this kinda stuff from other people too lol
