this weekend i get emailed that apparently she's overworked and overextended bc she's supervising 12 theses and that's untenable ( bitch you coulda known that when u started ! like u knew how many u had months ago ! ) but anyway

with only 2 meetings and a final draft to go, less than 2 months until the final thesis is due, they've decided to switch me to a different supervisor ? which is like. .... kinda nice bc the new professor is like an actual Doctor and has expertise in what i'm researching but also incredibly annoying and distressing bc uhhhhh . im autistic i dont like change i really hate hate hate hate having to switch stuff up and it's very very stressful to have to totally readjust on top of the general thesis stress

anyway theres no point to this just wanted to complain

yeah like its also quite nice honestly ! bc my new supervisor just has a lot more professional expertise and experience and she knows a lot more abt my subject & i generally just think she's like.... smarter and better all around

it's just rly overwhelming to make such a big change so last minute and also like .... my department head, old supervisor, and new supervisor all emailed me so now i gotta email them all back and i dont wanna .... i hate emaisl

It's upsetting that you were put in that situation in the first place, very strange. And that sounds super interesting! Especially since I major in literature and minor in gender studies.

yea my department is just chronically underfunded understaffed & overworked so im not like surprised but it sure does suck ! but omg that's so neat i also study literature aaaa nice ! i did a minor in law but my department is just very queer so we've done tons of gender / queer studies stuff too
