truly! i'm tired of it being expected that people especially women do't find themselves attractive and it's seen as like weird or vain when we do

actually agreeing with both statements like women aren't supposed to think of themselves as pretty because of the whole being modest and humble shit, but also OP is most certainly conventionally attractive, ugly people don't think of themselves as pretty, because they have eyes and ears to observe the reaction of people around them and the general ideals of beauty.
Pretty privilege definitely exists and saying stuff like 'everyone is pretty' erodes the meaning of the word.

i absolutely think pretty privilege exists and i'm lucky that the world around me has generally validated me in thinking i'm pretty and that's helped obviously. but it's kinda sad to view it as a privilege cuz i think that makes it feel even more unattainable. literally anyone can feel pretty, it's just going to be harder for some people.

yea its easier for attractive people to accept themself because they wont get constantly reminded of how other people think they are ugly, being able to accept urself is a privilege, and you can of course try to accept urself regardless of what others think, but its harder and its not always possible

i also had dirt poor self esteem as a teenager, like i wouldn't allow people to take photos of me and i'd cry if i saw a candid photo of myself. i could pick apart basically any physical feature of myself. so i'm just feeling kinda good about the fact that as an adult i can look back and not feel the same way about myself.
