me trying to clean is a disaster

today I was trying to clean my kitchen
I got annoyed with how my pots and pans were organized so I decided I was going to install a pot rack
I noticed a board on one of my shelves bowed, upon closer inspection I saw that the screw was too short, easy fix, I'll get a longer screw
when I went to get a longer screw I decided I needed to re-organize my hardware, because it was too messy to find a long screw
the new long screw gets stuck in the shelf because the pilot hole wasn't long enough
oops I got the drill bit stuck in the drill, cue 20 minutes of me beating myself up over being too dumb to get a drill bit out
changed the drill bit - turns out it was an impact driver, not a drill and I was doing it all wrong
I drill the pilot hole, screw the shelf back down
it has now been two hours, the pot rack is still not hung

pause for a doctors appointment which took for-fucking-ever

come home, and I FINALLY get the pot rack hung
I go to hang all my pots and pans on it and discover all the knobs and handles need to be tightened
back to the power drill

anyways, twelve hours later and my kitchen still isn't clean

actually, scratch that first line
I started trying to clean my kitchen YESTERDAY and decided I needed to hang baskets to put the cat food in, hang my herb drying rack, and vintage kitchen scale

I have used the power drill more than I have used the broom or a single cleaning product

I DID however scrub the inside of my grody ass fridge

Oh yeah a few hours ago I got distracted thinking about trucker caps and stopped cleaning to google them and then I got distracted by the hat googling because I remembered I was supposed to find a new therapist
so I registered for an appointment online like an hour ago lol they'll probably call and schedule me monday.
I didn't have these problems growing up at all tho so I really don't know, but it makes it really hard to be self employed and having to work self directed

It's really weird, most days I can't get fucking ANYTHING done, but like, once a month I've got like a week where I just can't fucking stop, but still somehow never complete the thing

if I had a dollar for every time a concerned friend said they thought I had adhd or was on the autism spectrum, I probably coulda afforded therapy/psychiatry sooner lol

reminds me i need to get some power tools. last time i tried to look into it i found a cool ass wallpaper and ended up sketching an idea to re-organise my childhood home that turned into a renovation plan for the whole house, i checked over every professionally drawn plan myself and made some tweaks and even after the house being sold i'm still pretty proud of imo visualising the space better than the professionals working on the project. oh and we did my old bedroom in a colour scheme picked from the wallpaper and it turned out amazing. anyway i'm moving into a new flat next month and doing some slight work like......removing some (or all) wallpaper and painting etc. i'm having a plumber check the kitchen for maybe adding another vent(?) for a dishwasher and if it's a go i'll build some extra cabinets around it and..........yes i think i'll need to get a drill

there's a literal pile of things in the kitchen that need to go to my shed, but I can't take them out there until I get my ex-roommates stuff out because there is literally zero room

haha no but I started
I filled one of my station wagons up and donated anything that wasn't junk
threw out four trash cans full
collected about 5 bins of scrap metal

he showed up last night in the middle of the night in the rain and was frustrated that my stuff was blocking the way to his stuff (funny how the tables have turned lol)

he left shit out in the rain that blew my mind
one of a kind art he did, drawings of his dead mom and his daughter, his citizenship and name change paperwork
like, this man is not in his right mind, at this point I feel like me throwing out junk when he's not here may actually be the kind of hoarder intervention he needs

oh yeah and actually i've been planning on getting battery powered tools that can use the same batteries but i haven't gotten around to find out what's worth getting. i want quality but i don't want to buy any extra $ on a brand or exciting but unnecessary qualities. i want the heads? to be magnetic and it needs to have a practical light on it, and i prefer tools that can reach narrow spaces etc so it can't be too bulky but idk what else

I'm not really a tool expert because I've inherited all mine from exes and past roommates who forgot their shit here, and I've never really had to go buy tools new lol

idk are batteries and re-chargeable batteries different things? anyway it'd come in handy if they could use the same ones

power drill batteries are big honkin' beasts and a drill should come with a battery and charger

i kinda feel sorry for him because some of the things he just abandoned soud really valuable, maybe not monetarily but that actually makes it worse because they can't be replaced but like at the same time i'm really pissed because i've had to deal with similar people and it sucks
