no, because it does what it needs to do when it's on the skin, some you let sit for a few minutes some you use as a scrub, If you din't clean it away properly it gets stuck into the pores and can cause irritation and inflammation when you put other products over it, the mask is just a ''tool'' to go into a deeper cleaning than a regular face wash
