I mean there are parts in the AA literature that address nonreligious folks and how to interpret the text but as someone who lives in the bible belt, I can see how any religious talk can be incredibly triggering for some folks
I have a friend who had her PTSD triggered by AA because her family literally performed exorcisms on her as a child
but on the other side of the coin, a lot of alcoholics use the religious aspect of AA s a convenient excuse to avoid it - but to me, that's all the more reason to remove it from the curriculum
Its not even just the god thing lol it's the belief ur powerless and the complete lack of evidence
