fibromyalgia or cfs if you have pre-existing depression? i assume it'd be really rare since most doctors would just say pain and fatigue are symptoms of depression as well, but i'm just wondering if it's possible

ik there's no doctors on vp but maybe people who have anecdotal evidence one way or another

mm what group do you mean? afaik fibromyalgia is diagnosed based on just symptoms but i could be wrong

there is no test for fibromyalgia, a fibro diagnosis comes when virtually everything else has been ruled out.
however it's common for doctors who just don't wanna put the effort in to just diagnose it right away.

but i was thinking .. i don't know the name of the thing but i have some antibodies or whatever in my blood that basically indicate that i most likely have some kind of autoimmune disorder but they don't know anything else than that

fibro is not an autoimmune illness.

this is part of why the existence of fibro is still so controversial, because you can't "diagnose" it so much as you prove that it isn't a bunch of other things.

I was "diagnosed" with fibromyalgia back in 2017 and since have found out about all the elimination tests that are supposed to be done to rule out other stuff, and found that no doctor ever did any of that - so I'm actually starting over and going thru the process of finding out if I actually have it.
