Well that was unexpected

I recently sent in my 2019 taxes cause I’m slow and awful.
it said I’d get $83.94 back, cool.
(I know bad me still gotta do 2020)

it’s been like a month and I just woke up to 2.9k in my account as a tax refund.
I guess they corrected it or this is what they owe me including the carbon taxes we get back.
it’s kinda surreal cause I can use that to payoff my debt and hold the rest in case I owe for last year when I took payments from the gov as help.
but I was putting my tattoo machines on the 2020 taxes too since they’re for work so I might not owe since I’ll be putting like 2k on there from machines.

wow I can’t sleep now,

When you don’t owe here they usually don’t kill/penalize you.
It’s just when you owe they get real upset.
Ive never owed and I’ve always been late and I’ve been fine haha

Well, congrats!! It's always a nice surprise to get more of your taxes back than anticipated. Sadly, as a freelancer, I usually have to remargin ... xD

Right, As long as I don’t owe they never seem to have a problem tho
I may owe a bit for 2020 so I am gonna do it ASAP and keep some of the money for it
taxes are just confusing so I take awhile lol
i need to be in a certain state of mind to do them

I have to send it in even if I've never had an income and thus never paid taxes

i'm surprised the norwegian system isn't the same as elsewhere i'm very relieved i won't have to do things manually and they keep simplifying it to ensure that it is as little work as possible and as correct as possible

I’d be going into freelancing this year if my shop weren’t weird and consider us employees instead of independent contractors for tattooing.
they will be taking taxes so I won’t have to worry too much going full time tattooing.
in the majority of shops you’d be an independent contractor/freelance tattoo artist essentially.
if I move shops one day then I have to calculate and hold my own taxes to owe them yearly 😅

Yes i think a lot of bosses pays ur taxes for u or sum too, worse if u have ur own business/freelance. Im too terrified of getting accused of tax fraud even tho I don't mean to do it

Yeah freelance you have to take a % from every sale as a sales tax to owe the gov at the end of the year.
that’s why you end up oweing  as freelance more often then not.
usually in school they forget to tell you to hold the sales taxes cause you’ll owe them at the end of the year

companies often do this for you because it’s just already part of their system to tax your pay lol
