Meep meep.

I'm in a vampire phase right now, so I'm wondering what are some good books, and movies  vampire related since I'm now a sucker for them. 😏

Romance sounds nice even if there's only bits of it. Definitely prefer stories that take a more dark turn with complexities in it. Post apocalyptic or not I don't mind.

Not much really, like I've read a bits of Twilight before (and didn't really care for it) and Bram Stokers Dracula.

hmm ok let's see what pops outta my brain:

"Model" - mature romance (i mean, not like r rated pornographic, just not for kids), got some good character plot twists and a more gothic feel but set in modern times, wasn't a personal fav. but maybe it'll be more your thing than mine.

"Hellsing" - more old classic shonen feel imo (so less romancy) but definitely cool and i think british-ish (at least more than most japanese manga), got some interesting characters and settings and intrigue but i don't remember most of it exc. book one cause i own that one

"Lament of the Lamb" - definitely a good dark complex thriller/story kinda book, seems interesting but i have only read half of it and get the sense that it could...get...weird...like not in a good way...but as i said, it hasn't yet so it might not and i've liked it so far

"Seraph of the End" - haven't actually started this one yet, but i've heard a lot of good things and know it has dark fantasy vibes, vampires, and post apocalypse feel to it.

"Vampire Knight" - definitely romancy, got some interesting plot twists and developments, more of a school setting but also some more serious factiony tension/fighting, i like it but it is a little... i don't know how to say it without being insulting...uncomfortable sometimes... so i can see both sides as to how some people love it and how some think it can be gross... it's not like M rated or anything (it's shojo beat LOL) but it has some moral conflict in it both from the characters' standpoint and maybe the readers'...i feel like that was not a good review and yet i like it...?

OOH THAT ONE give me a sec...

"Hakuouki" (i think)- has samurai AND vampires (that are not called vampires). I liked it, i watched some of the anime (i'm really bad at finishing things, ok?) and it seemed cool and dark and intrigue, maybe more action but def. some potential for romance

"Vampire Hunter D" - might be a good one to look into because i haven't read that one either but it seems dark, mature, and post apocalyptic. i think it is based on a real book series too fyi.

I must confess to not reading a lot of real books just cause if i have time to read for fun i usually pick manga. I haven't read much with just vampires but i know a few with vampires in them if you are interested and need some more options.

LMK if you have any questions on these (esp. the ones i've read anyway...) and good luck!!

ps there are manga adaptations of dracula and a "sequal" i heard of recently called "Dracula everlasting" i believe...just fyi...

Heard of Interview with the Vampire by Rice (Her supernatural stories sound amazing) and Buffy, I'll definitely give these two a try for sure since I've heard many good things about them. Thanks for the recommendations ^_^

Oh, wow thanks so much. I've watched bits of the anime adaptation of Vampire Knight but never got fully into it, I'm considering actually considering watching the series again. Though I wonder if the manga is better than the anime version. I've watched more of Seraph no End and never finished it, but I can tell you this; it's pretty good so go for it. Hellsing from the bit I've seen of it already looks freaking amazing, and I've been curious about Vampire Hunter D forever lol (especially love the art style of it so much). Never heard of the others you've mentioned but they sound really interesting, can't thank you enough for sharing all of this ^_^ <3

honestly i think the manga is usually better because like i mean, the manga of vampire knight is i 18 or 19 books and the anime is like 16 episodes or something... like HOW MUCH do you have to cut out to make it that short?!? and that is the usual pattern for manga to anime, like one book  for one or less episodes and they have enough information for like 2 or 3 episodes
