or rather going to the movies

i was gonna buy a ticket to see in the heights cuz i just wanna go to see a movie but jesus christ theyve raised their prices so much, 13,50€ or 16€ on a weekend for a normal small 2d screening, if they show anything in the imax anymore it's probably like 25€
so im not going to the movies

did u go to see movies often before the world went comatose
do you miss it
or were ur movie theaters horrible disgusting places where ppl went to loudly eat popcorn and talk and fart and kick chairs

i think a ticket for a 3d movie on saturday used to be 15€.............. i get that theyre desperate but i dont think people are quite that desperate to go see movies, especially since theyre showing stuff that's on streaming services??? why are they screening cruella or raya or the godzilla king kong movie when ppl could just watch them at home for either half the price or "free" cuz they already pay for the service anyway

Whaaaat that’s expensive as hell
here where i live there is still no finnkino thank god so the prices have been human at least till now (haven’t checked yet) but 10€ has been the basic price, maybe 12 for 3D
some not weekend nights 6-8€ was not unusual either

yea,, but at the same time that leads to less ppl going and it's confusing as to why theyd buy distribution rights to stuff thats on the internet anyways? i can understand spectacle movies like inception that they were showing all last year but cruella...................

Oh yea the variety and frequency are not good
at their Peak like before the pandemic it was three movies per theater MAX, usually two
but they show the biggest releases and price is good

yes i did and i loved it !! think i had a golden members card and everything one year..... but yeah it's expensive af and sometimes when I lived in Uppsala I just went to this small little movie theatre instead and watched movies that weren't new just to get the feeling of going to the movies hhah..

the fact that some new movies cost 140 SEK to see just blows my mind

ikr !!!! and the theatre was so cute, it felt like going back in time. they didn't even sell sodas, just like, ecological lemonades, and the hallway was so small and tight and looked so vintage hahah it was a blessing to just be there i mean look at this !! so TINY
