i worked in the elderly care for a while a few years back and it's fucking horrible
old people sitting stuck in a chair (not a wheelchair - a fucking ARMCHAIR) from 7 am til 7 pm (when they're forced to go to bed because no one has the time to deal with them later) pissing their pants and drinking juice from a sippy cup in front of the tv (on the same channel all day long because they can't use the remote anymore) EVERY FUCKING DAY ALL THE FUCKING TIME
they don't get to live in an old peoples home and have staff available at all times - no no no no no, sweden thinks it's better they remain in their own homes getting visits maybe every third or fourth hour from health care staff so they can have their diapers changed... instead of having someone actually help them to the fucking toilet when they need to go?!

and i'm fucking happy my mom had SEVEN FUCKING KIDS because she'll never end up like that now because when she's old we'll fucking care for her
like with my great grandma
her youngest daughter who lived close by came and helped her with showering, cooking ie every damn day and my step dad who wasn't even related to her did her grocery shopping and stuff
why do people just leave their parents to die alone? i get it if they were bad parents, but i've seen so many especially women and i promise they can't all have been bad moms????
