Book shopping fall 21

Here's my list for the rest of the year in physical copies. I've worked on keeping them to max 10 a year due to enviro reasons (and money. Ebooks are cheaper, so I only get books i expect to enjoy in physical copy firsthand now.) you might also have noticed I haven't even read all my other anticipations for this year yet (e.g. I was super excited for The living sea of waking dreams, and fairly excited about In the ravenous dark - which i might have to add to this list.)

What is yours?

I know! It's much easier on a tablet tho. Reading on phone/laptop is last resort. Audiobooks are good for travels tho but lowers reading quality a lot for fiction imo. Non fiction be okay.

I still have a few to finish up too:
- the children of ash and elm (got this year)
- the bone people (got last fall)
- the goddess of nothing at all (earc)

And some others on ebooks (spin the dawn, we hunt the flame, star daughter, city of brass) but some just needs to be read while the hype is there which means the other ones are posponed for when there's no hype.

I've actually started buying pockets again, easier to hold than my hardcovers

Good, I'm looking forward to it! I have to read 1984 and Norwegian Wood first tho, I'm doing a reading challenge with my mother haha

I think I'm gonna get all on the list except she who became the sun and Intersectional enviro. in hardcover. Mostly bc it would match the books i already have in that series or by the author. Mostly US covers also bc they are normally superior.

If there are some i will end up getting later then it will probably be paperback bc then they are finally released

They only have the uk cover in softcovers 😭

i think i shouldn't buy any more books now bc i have enough that i haven't read yet that will probably last me the year (i'm so slow at reading sometimes)

i recently bought girl interrupted by susanna kaysen (read) and the things we don't see by savannah brown (currently reading, like one third left)

then i have like. three or four more books i've bought earlier (one that's just a short story and that i've borrowed from my dad) to read, and also found out there's a bunch of swedish literature you can get as ebooks for free so i'm gonna try to read some karin boye (like, kallocain and kris are the ones i'm aiming for, i recently read all of her poetry now i wanna try her prose sdghk)

Sounds like a smart decition. Have you considered your local liberary for some of them? The night circus and kafka have been out so long it's quite likely they are there.
