Kentucky story time!

My districts state representative hogtied and tried to strangle his wife with an ethernet cable (while his kids were home) back in April 2020, and then made his wife go on the news and speak in favor of him, and promote his political campaign - and this county still fucking reelected this man for his "christian values"

anyways, he resigned yesterday
good riddance
there's still a court case, I hope he ends up beaten to a pulp in prison - but chances are he'll never see another day behind bars

but for real? how the fuck does someone get arrested for effectively trying to kill their wife mid-campaign, bail out, and still get elected?

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love Kentucky but this has been one for the fucking books

Honestly same lol
but also I literally don't trust the system at all, like, they can put whoever they want in office, and do - voting feels like a façade (and I say this as someone who literally works the polls at every single election)
