when you’re poor af and it’s cheaper than anywhere else it becomes the only option sometimes

If you are capable of buying more expensive stuff from companies that are more ethical and you choose to buy from amazon knowing it’s unethical, then I don’t think it makes any sense but I wouldn’t label you as a bad person

If you are tight on money and buy from amazon it’s totally ok because not everyone can afford to buy stuff from more ethical companies

To sum this up if your attitude is ”I’ll spend 1000$ to amazon because I can and my choices don’t affect anybody so i dont care” it’s a bit questionable in my opinion

But again people make their own choices so it’s not my job to judge if you’re a good or a bad person based on your individual choices

i use amazon as its cheaper and they can deliver next day which is handy if its something you need and you can't get to a shop lfor example during lockdown in the UK last year xx

I only judge someone as bad if they're mean, have bad intentions, hurt ppl or just an asshole.
Not if they buy from amazon or fast fashion etc. It's normalized to use those websites and cheap to do so for average person, and not because they have bad intentions.

I agree with this one
It would be good to guide consumers to buy more ethical stuff by pressuring bigger companies to change their ethics etc. because nowadays its normal for an average person to buy fast fashion
But it should also be affordable which makes it really difficult
It’s a long way to go

personal preference and ability to do so, really. buying sustainably as a consumer is a small gesture towards helping the earth but nothing we do as individuals can help stop what corporations are doing sadly. like claire is saying also you reeeeeeally need money and privilege of like neighbourhood and other circumstances to be able to purchase as ethically as possible

ALSO its a big scam to pass the buck

companies say "YOU must lower your carbon footprint as an individual" which moves the blame from the true culprit to the poor masses who dont actually have a choice

consume ethically where and when you can, be vocal about unethical businesses, but don't beat yourself up for needing to utilize unethical businesses/products.
