i think all forms of sex work is inherently exploitative and sexist because of the patriarchy. i think there's no 'healthy' way for a woman to be in the porn industry. i think, unlike other physical labors, sex is one of the only actions that should be carried out with FULL consent. which means under no form of coercion, and this includes money. (money is a coercion tool)
i think onlyfans is better in that regard but also should NEVER be glorified. onlyfans is something that is definitely, with no exceptions, going to ruin your chance at a professional job. also, the earnings for onlyfans in the 95% is abysmally low, the average MONTHLY earnings of an onlyfans sex worker is 200 dollars. MONTHLY
i also think that the internet grooms young girls into sex work. comments such as 'i cant wait to start an onlyfans!' are the evidence of grooming. and i also do not think an 18 year old adult, despite them being legal, has the intelligence to consent to sex work (see: mia khalifa)
that said. i DO NOT condone the shaming of sex workers. some people truly have no other way of making money. and shaming individuals does no good. but I do think that the glorification of sex work is really REALLY bad and it's basically diet capitalism/sexism grooming young women into being 'porn ready'.
basically the girlbossing of sex work is happening. the illusion of agency is sold while you are still a slave to the oppressive industry. it is NOT liberating to do exactly what the sex industry wants from you, which is to put a cheap price to ur body and sell it, and delude you into thinking that that's empowerment.
