hi hello, another topic where I struggle to make decisions that impact my future
okay so I need a few more credits than my major fills in order to graduate from my college & I'm currently planning out my semesters, but I gotta decide ASAP whether to add a theatre minor or a psychology 2nd major. I have enough psych credits already that I'd only need to add 1 extra semester to get a psych degree, but then I gotta pay extra tuition (I think it'd be around $7,000-$10,000 for the one semester with my scholarships). I do really like psych though. I also really like theater and would only need to add like 4 classes, which is just enough to fill the missing credits needed and I'd still graduate at regular time. I don't think I'll actually use the minor, but I do really like theater so I planned on filling the missing credits with that if I don't want to spend the extra time & money
so the dilemma is like
take the minor and get some easy and fun classes, even though i may not use the minor career-wise, and add no extra time
or
add an extra semester, extra $7k-ish, but new career opportunities opened (even though there's so many psych majors)
taking the minor is better money-wise (although I could apply for more scholarships) and it's the easiest/least stressful, but only 5 more classes (the extra semester) can add a whole other career path, so I feel like that kind of makes more sense? what do you guys think? any opinions?
I also considered adding sociology instead of psych because i really love both soc and psych but soc would take two extra semesters. I don't know which I'd put above the other interest-wise. Why must college be so expensive? If I could triple major in soc, psych, and communications (current major) and not spend like $100,000 I definitely would
