the medical system here is wack lol

The fact that insurance can deem the treatment my doctor is prescribing as "not medically necessary" is insane.

sup my chronic pain buddies
how we doin'

They denied my doctors request for a cervical epidural (basically steroids in my spine via the neck that would last nearly a year) because it's "not medically necessary" even though this spinal issue has fucked my back up so bad, that my posture can't be fixed because my shoulder muscles stay in a protective tension constantly and I can't take deep breaths because my back is so fucking tight.

I guess insurance would rather pump me full of muscle relaxers and opiates.

oh I also don't qualify for disability because I'm young and college educated and could theoretically "get a desk job" even though my education is in fucking farming and no one seems to be able to help me find this theoretical "desk job" they claim I'm qualified for

Yes that is what they do.
They are like "if your doctor thinks this is the right treatment get it but we won't pay for it"
but it's $1,000!!!

$1,000 and I'd need it 1-2 times a year.

now I have to go back to my spine dr to come up with "a new treatment plan" even tho I already know what they'll do - send me to a pain management clinic, which I already have an appointment at the following day.

and I still don't know if insurance will cover whatever the pain management clinic will do for me. I hope they'll give me trigger point injections and not pills.

what's insane tho is trigger point injections only last like 2-3 months, vs up to a year with the epidural. Insurance is gonna end up paying MORE in the end.

Our system has its flaws too, but nothing like this, it's really horrible what you guys have to go through
