do they treat physical illnesses at the psych ward

For me the psych ward was right besides the hospital so if smth was physical Like illness or sh, I guess they would take u there, for less severe stuff like giving vitamins etc tho they just do it themselves

When my mom was committed they specifically placed her in the hospitals psych facility rather than a standalone psych facility because of her health issues and the need for being close to medical staff.

It probably depends on what the issues are, if they're urgent, etc

the psych ward i've been to was right next to a hospital so other medical things were treated in there except for basic things like blood tests which were taken in the ward

only if it's critical to your mental health
for physical treatment, a pt rehab facility would be 10000x better.

I think, they might not treat physical illness themselves (regardless if related to menatl health or not) but they probably help u make appointments etc w the hospital/a doctor if u need it, esp if the psych ward is besides/in the hospital

No I mean like, if ur at the psych ward for mental health reasons, im pretty usre in most cases, esp if the hospital is close, they will help u get appointments w doctors or whatever u need w physical stuff while ur there, if its not smth they can handle. And probably they could make u get an appointment faster than if u just did it urself from home, if the physical thing is impacting ur mental health too. I think most psych wards either have docotrs there or doctors at the hospital they r in contact w so its easier than if u would have to do it urself

There was a regular doctor in charge where I was at (and mby more doctors idunno) but either way yes u could talk to him bla bla bla n then he could send u for tests (or other stuff I assume)

yea i mean, it's not really a matter of the physical thing impacting my mental health, just that you can't really leave infections untreated. or i guess you can but that might lead to complications

i have at least 2 infections currently and apparently my body isn't really responding to the treatment for either of them lmaooo, so if i were to go in the psych ward that might still be an ongoing issue
