If you don't have other options aka modern medicine failed you, seeking out alternative medicine is actually a plausible solution. You never know what might work even if it is placebo in the end.

as a child i got those sugar shit things to help with some weird shit on my neck and the placebo actually made it physically change, very strange
i still believe homeopathy is bullshit, it is only placebo
