Doctor update (bad)

I went, said the sumptoms I had of adhd bla bla bla, he then asked me abt my grades n I said I have always had good grades but never like,,, read for tests etc tho, or did my tasks cus I can't concentrate, but information just kind of sticks in my brain lol.

Then he said its unlikely its adhd cus they are usually not good at school (??) Which is like ok. I understand it kind of cus I would be extremely bad at school if I didn't have a sticky brain, but I know other ppl who have adhd who are very good at school too even with very bad adhd.

So yes anyways, he tells me its about 1 year wait time for the neuropsychologist (help), and he didn't refer me to there now anyway. I had to take a blood test to see if the "adhd" wasn't just vitamin deficiencies, then if the blood test was abnormal I had to take vitamins and if the symptoms doesn't get better I THEN will be referred to the neuropsychologist. If the blood test was normal (its 99% probably not) I could be referred to the neuropsychologist.

Anyways lol its gonna take like 2 years I feel like anyway, so I actually give up like lol im gonna have failed massively in school before then anyway so theres no point

No u have to go through ur gp, so if im gonna see another doctor I need to switch my gp and then go to the new one but I think ?? Thats not very practical, and it doesn't help with the wait time at the neuropsychologist either. But I guess it would help with the time I have to wait for the blood test to come back, THEN wait for my vitamin levels to get normal which they never will cus my body just doesn't work like that, and THEN get sent to a year wait time. Lol I cry I feel so hopeless

Can you ask  for second opinions?

the health system is ruthless when it comes to diagnozing ppl (esp young women) w adhd or autism. they want to avoid it as much as possible, and even if you fill "every" criteria they will just say you have "concentration difficulties, anxiety, executive dysfunction and [blablabla] but theyre all separate problems they cannot be adhd!"

its rly expensive, but ur best bet is going private. try looking for someone who specializes in adult adhd

also, why did he not refer you to dps?

but also, i think its worth switching gps if u can because honestly i think even referring u to a neuropsychologist should be left to dps - not gps w/o specialization in psych.

also, if my memory serves me correct - ur still in hs? try going through ur schools psych/bup/ppt.

Do you have a hotline for this kind of stuff?

We have hotlines for specialists and they have to get you an appointment in max 4 months.

Otherwise, I would wait for the blood test and then I would insist on seeing a specialist as soon as possible (which is not 2 years!!). The key is to put an emphasis on how bad this illness/ condition is disrupting your daily life. Tell them you have a high degree of suffering and that there will be bad consequences if you don't get treatment soon.

You have to be very insistent and not give in when it comes to this shit.

Yeah he even said women lften get diagnosed later cus they are better at like idk, functioning despite having adhd but then he was like "this is because of ur phone use and lack of vitamins n bla bla bla" but its like hhhh, its always been like this ouff

Yeah idk why he didn't send me to dps or smth instead, he didn't say. I've been to the neuropsychologist before tho (2019) but its gotten a lot worse since then (or at least I struggle more with handling the symptoms now) and I don't think he checked for adhd? My gp read through the report from that visit very fast and said he couldn't see anything abt adhd either, I think he just checked for personality disorders and autism, but my gp said if my blood work was normal he would contact the neuropsychologist and ask if he had done enough last time so I don't have to go there again or smth. I was confused but lol

anyways yes I still go to vgs, barely, but idk how to fix that. Do I have to go to helsesøster or something to fix it

The only thing I can find abt private adhd stuff in my city is that they do a short screening 1-2 hours and then send me off to the neuropsychologist again so I think I have to wait a year for that too (help)

Oufff, I've always had good grades (or at least average) but I don't even know if ill get a grade now cus of the amount of absence I have so rip me tbh. I think the absence is just cus I wake up, realize I have to do a lot before I go to school so my brain just stops working n then I go to sleep again. Or I leave halfway through the schoolday cus its so boring n I cant focus when stuff is boring, so its better to just leave
