Is this some new feature Twitch has started? Has anything like this happened to anyone else?

It looked legitimate to me, it was just in the stream chat. Never seen stuff like that before, though, so I don't know. And no, I didn't get the subscription, couldn't "claim" it or whatever. I unfollowed the channel, that just seemed too fishy to me.

Sounds fishy, the notification you get in chat is usually just to tell the streamer, it was probably some weird joke.
