but hair usually grows back and it's not a big deal if you have a mediocre haircut for a few weeks or months and literally nobody remembers your haircut after a while 
more often than not it will look better when you walk out even though it might not be your style but your hair will look 100x neater than when you walked in

also u can always say "cut little by little" so you can see how short YOU want it and if something would be too long too short etc.
