ear piercing

I got two new ear piercings, so 4 in total and like one of them is causing me so much pain. I got it done 2 days ago.. I looked it up online and it says it's normal but why is only one causing me so much pain? and it's red..could it be infected? I got it done at a place that's far from where I live and I can't find their phone number and they didn't really give me any cream or info.
is it true that salt mixed with water helps?Ā

salt water is what ur supposed to clean it with, yes it helps??

its dirt cheap to get a bottle of sterile saltwater at the pharmacy, presumably universally, that and a shotglass will keep ur piercings good

😭 u can but i see ur norwegian, so going to apotek1 and buying a 1L bottle of saltwater costs like 30 kr, so hygiene wise that is the better option

i just fill up a (clean) small cup and stick my ear in and soak for at least a minute (usually i listen to a full song per ear lmao), morning and night and that goes a long way

If you've been sleeping on the ear it might what's causing the irritation, I doubt it would be infected tho. Ear piercings, especially cartilage piercings are a bitch to heal and can cause you trouble for months. Buy a wound cleaning solution/spray from a pharmacy together with some cleaning pads and clean it twice a day. Don't twist or poke it and make sure you don't sleep on it

and also if its only 2 days old, being red at this point isnt a big concern, as its u know, still a very new wound

if it stays red and painful when undisturbed, and hot, a few days after cleaning it regularly, u may want to look into having it checked out. but as long as its not pus and burning to the touch, its probably fine this early on

oh its definitely an infection or the earrings were way too tight on my ear because my ear lobe got extremely swollen and I couldn't move the earring at all like it kinda swallowed it??? so I took it out

yeah the day I took it it hurt a lot and it was red which I didn't care about. then it calmed down a bit yesterday but suddenly today a few hours ago it felt like my ear was on fire it still does. but its a bit better now after I took the earrings out

been a while since i had to think about piercing care but iirc don't take jewelry out if you suspect an infection u could trap it
i think it's also just generally bad to mess with the jewelry in a fresh piercing bc it will irritate it, putting it back in might rly suck /:

when i had my lip pierced i boiled water and salt let it cool and then stuck the piercing in it for a while, maybe not as good as buying proper saltwater but it worked

most sites I came across were like take the earrings out, and clean it. I didn't do it at first because I don't want the hole to close lol. but the earring started to really hurt my ear like it felt extremely tight and I couldn't even move it if I wanted to. it was extremely difficult to take it off, and the pain of the tightness(?) I felt earlier is gone so I think I had to take it off? I'm not sure
I will try to do the salt with boiled water until tomorrow..
