i've been told by both family and strangers to seek professional help (unwarranted mind you since i never bring these topics up) but my theory is that therapy is a sort of placebo. if you believe it will work, then it will. but if you're more cynical person, it will not.
intentions are everything. just like if you give some rose quartz to an open minded person, the crystals may very well make them feel more loving towards themself and others. another person wouldn't be able to tell the difference between this 'magical stone' and an everyday stone found in some random waters.
i would be more open-minded to the idea of therapy if it didn't involve money and dependence, but of course nothing's free in this world
true in a way, of course it won't work if you're not willing to talk/change your ways/learn
you must be willing to work on yourself and towards the healing process if you want therapy to work
i think everyone would WANT therapy to work, of course, but it's just a matter of whether you are able to actually believe in it or not. but i always found it strange how quick these sessions would lead to talks about medications before giving anything else a proper chance. is it more important to heal a person or drug them, making them dependent on the system?
