If I get a hysterectomy am I not a woman

I'm considering getting one and I'm having doubts

Cuz it would erase my biological function, purpose and duty as a woman and it would give credence to the bigoted phrase "uterus haver" cuz then we'd have to re-define what it means to be a woman if I could live as a woman born woman while mutilating the beautiful, healthy egg producer god gave me when he made me eve and not steve
I'm conflicted

Then why is it offensive to say uterus haver

Cuz not all women have uteruses, like this is even true of cis women

I actually think reducing women to mean "people with uteruses" is what's genuinely problematic... its stereotyping and putting women in a strict gender role

Like I'm more than my uterus as a woman and I could have no uterus and still legitimately be a woman, so I actually consider it sexist and objectifying for the term"woman" to be essentialist and reductive

yeah i agree n if ive read this correctly we're on the same page

because of precisely that , a female is a female even if all her organs got magically removed n not acknolwedging the sex of a person for any reason esp people who sytemically and historically have undergone oppression based on their sex is a hella transparent attempt to kick females (women) out of a movement they made for themselves based on the oppression they face as females (women) . u are more than your uterus which is the entire point im driving here lol . ppl who say "uterus owner" and anything adjacent have been bamboozled into thinking woman is a slur or politically incorrect yet most of those ppl want to be seen as one its not adding up ... and despite all this talk about "people with uteruses" ive noticed everyone w that phrase in their mouth doesnt know anything about uteruses much like everyone with "bleeder/menstruator" in their mouth. the lies ive witnessed being spread abt how periods and pregnancy work by ppl of the male species which entails ZERO uteruses or wombs is on another level

Yes, you are more than your uterus.
No, you're not a child factory.

Being a woman does not equal having a female sexual organ, that would make you biologically female
but being a WOMAN is a whole different thing.

It's a feeling, a way of life, and it is what you want to define it to be.

For me being a woman is to be a being that has opinions, STRONG and unapologetic opinions.
It means I have the capability of the mind to think, create, process, see and feel,
to be kind and compassionate but also firm, strong-willed, and opinionated.
A mentor that can guide and lead with passion and understanding, wise to teach the masses, and wiser to learn from them as well.

I was taught back in the day, in a very conservative household -
that I cannot be loud, I cannot talk too much, I have to be ladylike and I have to "accept" my role in society,
eventually being married off to some random schmuck and becoming his housewife and child factory, to which I said no.

My mother still pressures me for children to this day and uses her condition to guilt trip me, but I also see no use to my uterus, which is totally fine, it is my own body, and I will be the judge, jury, and executioner of what is decided for it.

There is more to life than your sexual organs, you just need to redefine your opinion and perspective on it, if you don't want kids and you are 100% sure? all the more power to you
If you are still stumbling and thinking about what it means to you? it's more than fine and understandable.

why care about the biological aspect? by the fact that we're intelligent beings, with consciousness and subconsciousness, we are no mere animals any longer, we have ascended that, because if it was all about the biological, we'd be content with just eating, breathing, shitting and breeding, but as you can see hear and witness, we strive for a purpose, a meaning, happiness, and discovery, we're not bound by those organs anymore.

ok well being a woman is actually just being female n that little "feeling" or whatever is reactionary to gender roles aka ur environment and not inherent to u . sorry .

Get the hysterectomy if you truly want it.
It would not make you any less of a woman.

like how exactly is the definition of woman a bunch of random traits stringed together when women can have any personality

I mean you can argue the same of biological functions being used to strictly define women when not all women have these functions for many reasons

Like let's say a woman was born to two tall people and ends up being 5'11. She has naturally broad shoulders. She later begins to grow a mustache and realizes she was born with pcos.

She could easily pass for a man and even has biological features associated with men yet is still a woman.

Yeah certain biological traits tend to cluster together but there are exceptions to the rule.

I wholeheartedly agree that sex and gender are separate

yet even males and females can be born with conditions wherein they lack typical chromosomes or sex organs, like its rare but some woman are born without uteruses

Sex isnt binary and its harmful to everyone to pretend that it is. A doctor cant see that someone is born female and know for sure they have all the parts or functions associated with their sex. This shit isn't static

which is even more showing that what we get does not equal to WHAT we are,
and yes I personally know it as I HAVE that shit lmao (not without but well, complicated)
So yeah, you're very correct, it can be super harmful and it is not black and white, it is 50 shades of grey

that is why I made that loooong ass essay lol
We make that decision for ourselves,
the shitty part is that not all know and understand it quickly, which is not bad but it can be REALLY frustrating

Have you had a consultation yet for this? Is there a medical issue or do you just want to be sterilized?
