It was a bit more context yes also how he said it. He sounded pretty not interested in relationships like he basically said he preferred to travel and meet a lot of cats. 

Like obviously it doesn't mean that alone but it fits with his other behavior 
He never made any moves romantic styles or tried to get more physical other than a stiff hello and goodbye hug but he wants to meet up all the time and share pics of his trips and talk about all kind of shit. 

Maybe he is just a very clingy friend idk but also we sometimes meet this other girl and she is like the most beautiful woman on earth and he never looked at her like that like I secretly look at her like that lmao. 
Again, doesn't have to mean anything, maybe I and she are not his type but another possible indicator. 

Maybe he's gay idk but my gaydar says no.
