Halfway done with year 2 of my 3 year studies
and wanting a career change
I realised I’d prefer being a midwife much more than a pediatric nurse, why didn’t I chose that right away grr
i work with them a lot and made several midwife friends and that career just seems a lot more interesting? Like I genuinely have a thirst for that kind of knowledge and would actually be motivated to study that
So now I’m like should I finish what I’m doing rn and get that qualification and then study to be a midwife which is again 3-3,5 years or should I stop doing nursing and start a midwife apprenticeship right now???
the dumb thing is that how to be a midwife is changing at the moment in Germany
only this year you can still choose to do an apprenticeship, after you have to study it at uni…..
and while I do have the necessary qualifications to study at a uni, I’d much prefer the more “hands on” apprenticeship
grr this is a stupid situation
wanna do an apprenticeship
bht can only do that till 2022
but don’t wanna stop doing what I’m currently doing since I’m halfway done
bht also don’t wanna add several years after I’m a nurse to become a midwife
I mean I don’t wanna be 30 till I’m settled in my career and finally have children myself
