make you more depressed/anxious at the start. how does that work what's the logic there

n do they even actually help in the end or is it just that you feel worse and then you get used to them and feel the same as before you started them so ur like wow i feel better now

SSRIs tended to make me feel worse before better, but it definitely *did* feel better than before I'd started. It takes a bit, but also if after a month or two it still feels either no better than before, or even potentially worse than now, talk to your doctor and see about changing your medication or dosing. :/ SSRIs hard tm

chemical inbalance, different times of activation hence there being an incubation period kinda
u should take sertraline for a month before you put it off
vortioxetine causes huge nausea and expensive, i could not eat on it

next question, do ssris actually make you numb emotionally n should i think that that might go away if i give it time or nah. idk if i'm just imagining it but i feel very numb and empty today and that's not like me at all. like there are no feelings to be found where i would normally have feelings

it's scary and making me want to quit taking them immediately honestly

it depends on the ssri, zoloft did that to me and it didnt go away so i stopped taking it but lexapro doesn't do it. it just depends on the med/and also ur body

Citalopram did that to me, so I stopped taking it, but I was on it for many months feeling like that.

depends on how long you've been taking it, could be a passing effect, if it continues for a longer period of time you can switch to another ssri

you should see if you can get one of those genetic tests for psychiatric medication though
they're not foolproof, but its a good jumping off point that sees how your body metabolizes different medications

i've heard good things about those but they're expensive as fyuuuuck apparently so afaik you can't get them in public healthcare without a good reason
