hmm
which windows are you using?
or do you have a mac?

if you have windows 10, go to the uhh
the sound icon on the lower right side of the screen, right click it and press "sounds"
then it'll open up this window there, press the "playback" tab there, then you can see you have a few "options" there and you need to pick the laptop speakers, with laptops I THINK it says JUST speakers? so you need to pick that one, you'll know you picked it by the green mark on it.

if you'd like I can take pictures if you'd like a visual explanation

Aight, when you press on the win icon, and then settings (the cog icon) you'll get the main system settings,
you should go to SYSTEM
From System you should go to Display
when you scroll down you have a "Multiple Displays" option,
you should pick "extend these displays" to make it so the 2 screens are basically 1 that continues the other,
and check the box saying "Make this my main display".
after you're done with that scroll up, and press "Identify",
that way the system will show you which screen is which, and based on that,
You'll now drag one of the numbers and align it according to how your screens are set up.

meaning- if your laptop screen is 1, and the additional is 2 (I assume so because laptop is the main screen and it's that way for me)
my stepup looks like this :
the laptop screen is to the right, additional to the left, therefore I dragged the 2 to the left side and it looks like this now
