What duvet do you have/like?

ALSO JUST USING IT FOR OTHER INTERIOR THINGS RN SO I DON'T HAVE TO MAKE A NEW TOPIC

DUVET CONTENT:
I am considering investing in a new duvet, probably a all-seasons or summer duvet, since my current winter duvet used as all seasons duvet (i wake up sooo warm atm) have had too many bunny visits if u know what i mean. Anyways, it's dirty af.

I need to get myself a matress for the student housing too so idk what that will cost yet and which options I have 🤔 I am trying to get most stuff used/from family but some things I am a bit more eeh with. I probably will end up getting less than what I originally think I need bc I honestly don't need that much for my room. I'll probably get more in the kitchen area for storage and tools and such? Idn

REGARDLESS, i am looking at some locally made with down. Its a small, family owned fabric. The only one still alive in my city. 10years guarantee and they will clean ur stuff (again, the only place here that still offers that service.) all other options are.. IKEA (but they don't have norwegian sizes so nothing I own of covers etc will fit), Høier Scandinavia (mass produced, probably the affordable option. I think that's what I have now?) yeah idk other options atm. Those are the ones I've seen in store.

I am just a bit like.. Down is sorta... Poor birds? But yeah i sorta wanna hear which u guys have and if u like it or not??

I got the cheapest one in Jysk a few years back. It's made with pillow stuffing I think? It's honestly nice, though a little cold in the winter because we sleep with an open door. It was an active choice I made to buy without down, because my last duvet was made with down and it had become flat af because the down had slowly fallen out after 10+ years of use. I honestly think it's just two pieces of fabric now.

With that said - a duvet made with down is honestly the most comfy duvet you can get.

i don't know my mom is crazy like this and she won't let me sleep on cheap matress or duvet or pillows, she even buys me expensive bedsheets... because she knows i would just buy everything thrifted and for whatever reason she can't stand the idea of her children having a bad sleep hygiene
i have weighted blanket +3 other blankets in my bed because i'm crazy too. but yeah idk what they are my mom has bought them

I do love a comfy af bed and w picking down i can get them repoofed if the down's start turning unpoofed, so that's sorta an issue i don't need to think too much about for some years anywyas.

Oh that's good! I would definitely choose down then, because it's honestly more comfy. I enjoy my duvet, but it is a different sleeping experience compared to down, because the down duvet is lighter, more fluffy/not as close to your body when you sleep with it on and it is usually a lot better at keeping warm.

If you're worried about the ethical part of down, maybe try to find out if it's ethically sourced? Most birds "shed" down I think, and it's also a waste product in the food industry, so I honestly think it's possible to get without it being too bad. It's not quite like t he fur industry after all.

yeah, I know. I'm just so tired of doing deep dives into brands, it's like learning a new industry every time. But I guess I am starting already.

Research updates:
Norsk Dun® - waste products from the Norwegian meant industry. Nordic Ecolabel (Svanemerket). Downpass (Traceability).
A.F. Wigen - local, family-owned store in my city. Sells the brand above.^
Dynefabrikken - local, family-owned producer in my city. Cleans and refills your duvets, 10yrs guarantee. No certifications.

Right now Norsk Dun looks like a good option since they also got sales so it's only half the price atm online.
