on friday i am going to the doctor's to change my medication for the 100th time, since SSRIs haven't had any effect on me at all so far, do u think it'd be okay for me to ask for an SNRI or NDRI ? bc like my doctor isn't particularly nice so idk i'd be nervous, also if anyone has any experience w non-SSRI medication pls tell me about it dankeĀ

update: i have been now it's oke

what ssris have u been on?
u can always ask for snri or ndriĀ

aside from all ssris ive been on trintellix and bupropion, they are good but trintellix causes nasuea and bupropion hightens anxiety so imo its better to use it WITH an ssri
ask ur doc if u could maybe add bupropion onto ur current ssri medication before you switch? could help

i've been on fluoxetine, citalopram, currently sertraline, and i'm sure something else, but i can't remember, i will ask about maybe adding instead of swapping, but just looked bupropion isn't prescribed for depression in the uk lol rip

I think as long as it isn't like suggesting loads of Ā meds (or a very spesific one) thats commonly used for recreational purposes I think its fineĀ

Bupropion is the only medication to have improved my depression at least temporalily lol, the same medication can have such wildly different effects on different people

Since you have already tried several SSRIs i think it's perfectly reasonable to suggest something else now, there are other optins available after all

unfortunately cannot have that one in uk ;-; but yes i don't see why i shouldn't be able to ask for something elseĀ

If I could go back in time I’d never start venlafaxine. If you miss a dose you'll get super sick. You cannot forget to take this one. However it did work for me when nothing else would. It’s just now I’m stuck with it for ever lmao.Ā

Ā hopefully it'll be okay for me, weirdly my doctor had no reservations about venlafaxine at all, but did for duloxetineĀ
