i was talking to my brother and a relative a while back and i told them i just buy things as needed, and they got all "ooh no don't do that thats more expensive" but im like,, since i live alone i dont use enough stuff to shop weekly i would still just buy like one or two veggies

hahah this is the real problem isnt it. Honestly id probably only go to the store maybe 2-3 times a week to begin with if it werent for my snacking no i go like every day but most days i dont even get groceries just like, a candy bar n energy drink

tbf i usually end up eating the same thing for a couple of days straight even if i by things as needed, but i also usually like eating the same thing multiple days in a row haha

I think maybe if i did more proper meal prepping i would to a bigger weekly grocery run, but rn im more like, make a big pot of something, and just take from that pot until its been eaten so

well, I mean to be fair, I do something similar
like for instance I cook up a pot of bolognese or a curry and that's then usually 4-6 servings. So half of them go into the freezer and one for immediate consumption. So I do need a bit more organisation for my freezer space (because I only have those little ice shoe boxes inside the fridge and not a real freezer), but then I don't need to eat the same thing for a whole week straight (which is one of the reasons many people living alone have so much higher grocery bills, because it's way more expensive to cook single meals compared to big meals like that that you then kind of have to work with either leftovers or feed 4 people at once)

ooo noo rip,, you can still get ice cream, you just gotta eat it rly fast!!

idk my meals arent always super exciting, i just use like crushed tomatoes or coconut milk as a base + ur basic dried carbs ie rice or noodles or pasta, n then stuff like canned beans and chickpeas.

yeah ive got one of those freezers too but usually all the space is taken up by bread

But yeah even if i shop the way i do i never make less than 2 servings and usually 3-4, unless its breakfast maybe
