going out more often just opens you up to impulse buying stuff you don't actually want to use up or can't use up fast enough and then end up throwing away (most people at least)

I think maybe if i did more proper meal prepping i would to a bigger weekly grocery run, but rn im more like, make a big pot of something, and just take from that pot until its been eaten so

well, I mean to be fair, I do something similar
like for instance I cook up a pot of bolognese or a curry and that's then usually 4-6 servings. So half of them go into the freezer and one for immediate consumption. So I do need a bit more organisation for my freezer space (because I only have those little ice shoe boxes inside the fridge and not a real freezer), but then I don't need to eat the same thing for a whole week straight (which is one of the reasons many people living alone have so much higher grocery bills, because it's way more expensive to cook single meals compared to big meals like that that you then kind of have to work with either leftovers or feed 4 people at once)
yeah ive got one of those freezers too but usually all the space is taken up by bread
