I went on 2 dates with this guy and we were going to meet last week or the week before that i don't remember
but i had a manic episode lmao
and ended up in the hospital

I told him I was sick
but on the phone today i was like ok got to be honest i have an illness i was in the hospital for
but said nothing else
i'm just digging myself a hole here i feel like

do i keep avoiding the question if it comes up or am I honest??
it's a bit soon to explore my brain i feel like

depends on how he reacted on the notice i think (of you having an illness and all that you told him). also depends on how serious it's getting. if you want a meaningful relationship, or the possibility of such a thing, can be a good idea to open up a lil bit (but maybe not blurt out everything all at once as well)

not talking from experience though, but i guess one can draw parallells between anything that is a sensitive topic and when to bring it up when dating

he said oh no poor you or something like that
idk yet it's still really new
but i'm also thinking like if he can't accept i have bipolar now he probably won't later but idk
i also want him to get to know the real me before the me that i am when i am sick

im always open about my mental illnesses when i meet new people. in the long run its just easier that way. but you dont need to tell him things youre not ready to talk about

i'm just worried about scaring him off it seems like everyone has their own idea of what it's like

If he asks anything, be open about it. If not you can give it a bit time before telling, but you gotta open up at some point if it's getting serious.
