Customers who still looks around the store 15 min after closing time even tho you reminded them it's closed and if ppl wants something they need to go to checkout....

and it's a long queue and 20 min after closing time at that point and asks to get like 4 things wrapped seperatly.

When I finally got ppl out and was about to shut the doors...  Some lady ran and went IN and demanded to check status on her ordered books. I try politely to explain there's no such way to see how far their package is for us who workes at the bookstore, however we know orders usually comes in 5-7 days after ordering, and we'll send textmessage to her when it arrives.

She's mad as hell and wants me to call the mail services - and when I asked when she ordered the books she told me ''yesterday''. Like... I would understand why she's mad if she waited 1-2 weeks, but I can't do anything about it other than send message to her when it arrived and ready for pick up.
At that point that I just said if she got any other questions she's welcome to come back when it's opening hours. She wasn't happy about that but at that point it's almost 30 min after closing time.

I feel like service type jobs rlly opens your eyes how rude and sometimes dumb ppl can be. But thankfully most days ppl are decent and sweet and I have good time.

Do you deal with annoying ppl or customers at work? any stories to share?

Lol that's so dumb.
I used to work for a home improvement store and there was an elderly couple that always came in 10 mins before close and our head cashier or manager would always tell them "The store is closing in 10 minutes!" and every time they were typically the last ones to leave. They would ignore every single announcement and the employees "harassing" them to get them to leave. Literally everyone knows them for that reason and hates them.

I unfortunately wasn't witness to it, but according to some coworkers there was another after closing asshole that would excuse it with "This is the only time I can shop!". Anyway, the managers, head cashier, and department TMs have radios and the head cashier called the guy a "dipstick" over the radio and a TM had their earpiece out I guess, because the guy he was talking about heard it. Deserved.

Oh and I've had a fair share of fake service dogs that would misbehave. Idk why people think they need their crusty little untrained chihuahua everywhere they go, but I digress. One time a lady brought her Great Dane into the front end and refused to leave. She was standing right where customers go to grab their rebate forms and the dog kept lunging and barking at people.

If it's 10 min before closing time just to get in and they know the stuff they gonna buy it's fine - but ppl who go around and shop and take their time... Mad annoying.
Can't understand if ppl can't shop other times at the day just hurry in and out before it closes.

Yeah, they can't even feign hearing problems at this point bc they've been told over and over. LOL
The store I worked for changes their hours in the fall/winter from 10pm to 9pm and the amount of shit I got from customers for it... MY GOD. Like sorry, Karen. I don't care that you live in the middle of nowhere with some cows. A store doesn't work it's schedule for one person, you make time to go to that store.

It's a single building. Fortunately she left, but they would've gotten police involved if not.

LMAO I remember one time some lady got mad at me because we didn't have a book in the store she wanted. It was a gift so I understand she needed it quite soon.

I checked if there's other bookstores (same company) in my city who got the book - and yes there was! I explained that she should go to the bookstore in city centre which wasn't that far away with bus or car, and even walking. But no, she doesn't want to go anywhere and she want's it NOW or on monday (it's saturday), and I told her I can't physically get the book to the store that fast since I need to order it, so she should take a quick trip to the centre.

And she wanted me personally get her the book from another store and then go to work, like - it doesn't work like that since we don't have a jobcar delivery service nor do many of us have driving license. She got so mad at me and said bad shit about me. I tried to give her three options; I can order the book but it will take around 5-7 days to arrive, she can get the book the same day if she takes a quick trip to the city to another bookstore or I can recommend similar books if she wants to buy something then and there.

Nope she didn't want to do anything but say shit about me because we didn't have a specific book she wanted, like it's my fault. Like what am I supposed to do, use magic to make it appear?? She didn't leave me alone at all after I gave her all the options, when there was no more help to give.

Dumb that they get mad at the customers about the working hours, like it's not your fault smh. Don't understand how ppl get angry about that on the employees and not just ''woops didn't know'' and learn from it.

A dude bought two burgers at the gas station I have been working at, but he bought them from the app right. He ordered two of the "preset" burgers (idk what the word is, but most ppl order burgers with customized toppings/ingredients, but he had ordered one with already decided ingredients if that makes sense). Anyways, we make the burgers, then when they are done, he comes to the counter thing and says he does not want ANYTHING on his burgers, but at that point they were already done, and had other ingredients and sauces etc on them, so he said we couldn't take off the meat and put it in a new bun, because the burger had sauce on it. Like ok r u fr, fine enough if u don't want certain stuff on ur burger, but at least order right then, or go to the counter right after ordering to tell us we can't put anything but burger patty on the burger smh ,,,,

it's such waste of food to do over again or just put it in a new bun. Weird he didn't order it plain if it's customable.

Also, this is kind of a small issue cus I can see the different pumps and which one is in use/has been used on the cashier screen, but when ppl don't know their pump its so annoying fr. Its usually fine cus theres only one pump at a time that hasn't been paid for, but when theres multiple, I have no idea which pump is which when they try pointing at it

I think it was because there was a certain deal, with certain toppings, but also the chili cheese balls and fries and soda etc, so if he ordered that, then it would be cheaper than if he ordered a burger the normal way where he has to pay extra for the fries and chili cheese things, so for the amount of food it was cheaper, but if he didn't want anything on his burger, at least come over to tell us even if u r ordering in the app 😭

But yes we throw away a lot of food, but I think we can take it for free also instead of throwing it away, but you don't have time to eat it anyway before ur shift is over so it migth have to be left at room temp for a really long time, and I don't want that so I just throw stuff away
