my coworkers got me a gift tho and that's what matters the most ofc. The bosses are severely lacking brain capacity and we all know that.
I work with one of my best coworkers today and he came early to work to prepare the breakfast for me, so I didn't need to do it ❤❤❤❤

Maybe they don't realise it now but they will miss me when I'm gone and I know that. Bc the work I've put in for these dickheads for minimum fuckinf wage and basically put my entire soul into it and sacrificing my free time for THEM. No one else will do that. Bc why should they lol its just a job. And a shit one. Dumb of me ofc to actually agree to it (tho I have complained a million times but they refuse to listen bc I'm like the bottom of the chain lmao). But oh well. I work in health care so if I don't work as much and as good as I can it affects the ppl I take care of on a daily basis. But that's health care for ya. Never again

You have the right mentality. That field isnt done for the money (unless you're like a surgeon or something). You do it out of love for the people you provide for. Even tho if health care workers were properly compensated and given good benefits, burn out wouldnt be as bad and clients would get better care imo.

I'm fairly lucky. I am a caregiver at a group home run by a non profit that serves developmentally disabled adults. It's a good company to work for and the pay is decent (I make $19.50 an hour, not amazing but not bad either). Bad benefits but otherwise solid gig. I'm more social/human services than I am healthcare but there is some overlap.

My mom was a certified nursing assistant in the late 90s/early 2000s and only made a buck or two above minimum wage despite paying for her certificate and attending a course. Ridiculous. Dont even get me started on EMTs. Its asinine how little pay and benefits the people providing needed services get.
