Ancestry did their annual big result update

They took "Sweden & Denmark" out completely
And instead gave me.....
....
.....Cyprus

Smh destroyed my dreams
I'm literally 0% nordic in any way now

I literally feel zero connection to anything mentioned in my dna test lol

Have yall done a dna test before? What does it say?

i was offered to do one bc my aunt is rly inte that stuff n family history and whatnot but i declined cause i dont want them to have my data among other things lol

if i rly wanted to know i could just look at the one shes done + the ones shes done on people on my dads side but i dont really care, that sort of thing has no impact on my actual life, we're swedish+norweigian far enough back that anything else popping up would be insignificant

Doesn't really work for me as all of my grandparents were refugees from different countries
the knowledge of our family history pretty much stops with them

It took me 21 years to even find out what would have been my family name because my paternal grandparents changed it to seem more German and integrate better

The specific countries used in a DNA test shouldn't be quite precise. I can't give specifics anymore, because it's been years since I read it.

I haven't taken a DNA test yet. I have considered doing it, but I'm not quite sure I want to, because I have donated eggs to for IVF treatments for people, who want children but can't get them for one reason or another. I'm not quite comfortable knowing my potential DNA sharer would be able to track me down before they turn 18, if their parents tell me about them by then, if they, for some reason, take a DNA test before they turn 18.
