Looking for book recommendations

Yes, what it says on the tin.

I am looking for both fiction and non-fiction. (Though I like non-fiction a bit more because I don't have the time for big emotional investments. So if you want to recommend me fiction, please no series.)

What I enjoy reading:

Fiction - sci-fi, slice of life, focus on relationships (not necessarily romantic) and bonds, not really a fan of excessive action

Non-fiction - about humans and their relationships with the world, themselves, nature. Big fan of sociological readings, can do with a bit of politics (but difficult depending on the subject). I also don't mind life planning/organising and nutrition content in general, but I try to stay clear of preachy self-help books (they don't do anyone good except the author's wallet)

when god was a rabbit by sarah winman
i had my problems with this book but overall it was worth of reading. i guess it passes as slice of life. it's about family relationships and (childhood) traumas, so in that sense not the easiest one to read but it's not like super dark to read either

Have you read A life on our Planet by David Attenborough? It's really good and about global warming. I was very sad while listening to it (Attenborough narrates the book himself) but it is also quite hopeful by the end of it.

Sapiens is also very very good, but mostly the first half of the book. It becomes meh by the end of it.

Incognito by David Eagleman is a book about the brain, but ends up in a discussion about how little we know of the brain and why death penalty isn't a good idea from a scientific standpoint.

Oh!

Jon Ronson also writes some books you might be interested in. I feel like Jon Ronson is either a guy you hate or love though, so it might also be the worst recommendation ever. His most famous book is probably The Men Who Stare at Goats, and while it's a good book, I think I like The Psychopath Test more.

Non-fiction; sociological reading i'd highly recommend you ''The dawn of everything'' by David Graeber, bought it recently and it's brilliant.
