awful work meeting

I got passively aggressively called out by my supervisor lol

so last month, it was hot and I thought gazpacho soup would be a good thing to make, cuz I work with mostly seniors and one has seizures triggered by heat

also their diets are horrible and I'm trying to get them to eat more vegetables and also use up all our stockpiled commodities, which is mostly beans and stuff right? one is prediabetic, and the only two who are not overweight are on special diets due to medical conditions. Also we even were told in a prior meeting that we need to work on portions and scale down on all the cakes and stuff

so I asked my supervisor if we could make it, she said great, and one of the girls who is supposed to cook three times a month was on board

SHE NEVER GOT THE INGREDIENTS of course so I had to wing it when we had tomatoes

the girls weren't fans of it, so oh well, it failed, I will never make it again

so tuesday supervisor was talking about having me and another girl be more involved in menu planning tho she said "we want to cook what they like, we're not here to cook vegan" and I'm like "uh is that a jab at me?"

sure enough, at the staff meeting on the paper it says "cook for consumers, not staff" and she goes on a speech about that then looks at me and says "yeah I think she only wanted to make that gazpacho soup for attention"

EXCUSE U seriously

like you were supportive, it didn't work, big deal, why are you calling me out in front of everyone and assuming I'm trying to force food they don't like on them, it was a failed experiment, it's not a big deal, talk to me in the office instead of embarassing  me

also they bought a ton of cakes and pies on sale so good job taking your own advice about providing healthier meals... love how I try to do it and I get treated like garbage

this is every work meeting

they take an issue from a particular staff and address it as if it's a universal issue yet it's clearly a passive aggressive call out and everyone knows who they're calling out

it's not productive

it's petty, childish and mean

It makes me hate my job

U sound like u have a similar ish job as my mom, she worked as a drug consultant (idk what to call it in english), but then she switched to a place where autistic ppl came in the day time to get help with cooking, shopping, everything rlly, and then she switched to working with a single "user", he moved 1,5 hours away I think, so they have 3 day shifts I think, cus they sleep there and everything yeah. It doesn't sound so bad, she cooks for him, helps clean, helps with everything uknow

I work for a non profit for people with developmental disabilities. I work in one out of 8 group homes the organization offers. The one I work at houses  8 people, mostly seniors, tho a younger 30 something lives there cuz it's the easiest place to manage her behavior in.

I have the same duties as your mom. In addition I'm certified to pass and transcribe prescriptions (I can't prescribe or make decisions  without consulting a pharmacy fyi). It's not for everyone but if you have the soul and passion for it its a lovely gig.

The problem is agencies and homes like this are toxic, so much turnover, shitty management, backstabbing and infighting, and cuz the residents need constant supervision prepare for crazy hours when understaffed

Like this kind of drama is killing my soul lol

Consulting in the us refers to providing advice to companies, so like hr, staffing, marketing and sales and stuff, they work more on the business side of things

Drug and addiction counselors work specifically with clients abusing drugs yeah
