Find an active record label if you want to earn pD and fans. They double up your performance chance, so you can perfom twice as many times in every country. Because you're only karaoke star, then I would really recommend doing this, until you're at least youtube star. The pD aren't worth much, but can be nice to have when you're new and you just want to expand your wardrobe with cheap stuff from marketplace or items from the shop (where there sometimes are limited edition stuff) There's also a pD auction every month, so if you get enough pD, you can also use it here.
Besides the few times pD are useful as mentioned above, you will also be able to sell them. I think it's best to do around auction time. I think it's 1000 pd for 1 cr as the common exchange rate.
If you're a pay to play kind of person and don't mind spending money on pixel clothes, then wait until mega credit week, which is the first (whole) week of a new month, where you get an added bonus of a clothing set (or two) with your purchase. Most of these sets give you some credits back to spend on other stuff.
