understanding how grooming works, how marketing works, and how all our media is made to morph our society, DOES actually protect you from being indoctrinated to a certain extent. Learning to question things, and think critically is almost like "vaccinating" yourself against brainwashing.  No one is totally immune, but having the skills to stop and think about it helps a LOT

I mean yeah I'm not here to tell anyone they should/shouldn't use it
I just know a lot of folks who have a fairly warranted anxiety about social media, but it has kinda become ingrained in society to a point it's hard to avoid, and for a lot of folks it's easier to rework their relationship with it rather than abstain from it entirely.
