pride flag

I am in no way trying to be offensive I just want to try to understand. !
Sorry if this is a dumb question I genuinely just want to learn. Excuse my ignorance

I know the "classic" pride flag of course but I'm a little confused about the updated one.
Obviously the colors represent sexuality but the black and brown parts represent people of color.
Does this mean people of color (that are cis) use the flag too or is it meant for people of color that are lgbtqia+?
I guess I don't understand the connection between sexuality and race/skin color? Please explain to me !

i'm pretty sure the trans colors and the black and brown stripes were added to emphasize with marginalized groups within the lgbtq+ community. bc the maker of it thinks that's what we currently need to focus on bc of all the hate both within the community and from outside. (there's a lot of racism n transphobia within the lgbtq+ "community" or "culture";)

and the maker of it said it was not meant as a replacement but as a supplement to all the other flags.

The brown and black is also added because people of colour were primarily the ones fighting for lgbtq+ rights, the ones marching is the streets and such. Therefore it's sorta like honouring them, because the community and the world wouldn't be as far as it is today without them

Also it's def not a dumb question, it's a very good one!

I think it gained popularity after the pulse shooting bc the majority of victims were poc and lgbtq+
