social rules are so weird dumb and stupid

and i hate them !!!!!

was introduced to my mom's friend's boyfriend this morning and i went to go shake his hand bc i thought that's what you do when you meet a new person, especially when they're over the age of like 40?

then immediately got laughed at for being too formal

like not in a purposefully mean way or anything just ..... i cannot stop thinking about it and its like

idk genuinely upsetting as an autistic person bc you can spend literally 25 years of your life trying to learn the rules and be nice and play the part and not make ppl uncomfortable

but i'm still never going to understand!!! and it's still going to hurt every time i mess up and someone points it out!!!

I think that's a lovely way to introduce yourself to someone new - people can be such asshats

as adults, to shake hands with a stranger you're being introduced to? i mean i guess it depends on the culture, but that's just common sense
