what would you do?

I used to be diagnosed with bipolar disorder but it changed to schizoaffective. I'm a member in an affective disorders organisation (depression, bipolar and fatigue syndrome). I'm also in one of their talk groups.

Would it be wrong of me to still be a member even though I don't have bipolar disorder anymore? I still have those symptoms but schizoaffective is considered a psychotic disorder. Would it be weird if I kept myself involved? Or should I just leave?

I think it depends on the group space really. Like some are open to it because you share experiences and others might be very "nono" about it. Just being a member doesn't seem wrong imo, I'd rather consider which voice you have in the group, like idk what u talk about like if it is just shared experience it could be considered whether you want to disclaim that it has changed and you only participate where they overlap from now on, or well, idk it's hard to say like if it's not beyond u u could consider asking their opinion on it

I plan on asking tomorrow in the talk group if I'm still welcome despite the new diagnosis

Schizoaffective is symptoms of schizophrenia + symptoms of a mood disorder (like bipolar). But it is considered a psychotic disorder from what I understand.
