Dog + Christmas tree =

I have a question for dog owners... How did your dog(s) first react to Christmas trees? Like when you brought a Christmas tree inside and decorated it and stuff.

I have an 8-month-old dog (a mix between Labrador and Golden retriever) and I'm a bit worried that he will react the same way as our cats did and try to knock it over

(Enjoy this cute pic of him lol)

our dogs just ignore the christmas tree for the most part. some have tried to play with the branches their first or second christmas, but it honestly hasn't been a big issue. and we keep the decorations high enough on the tree so that they're out of reach. for a couple of years we also had the tree on top of a table, lol
and none of our dogs have ever been scared of the tree, thankfully

but every dog is different

what we've done which i think have helped, is that we haven't encouraged the dogs to sniff the tree or anything. like we just bring it into the living room and then we ignore it and act like it's another random piece of furniture or something, the dogs then just don't feel the need to chew it or anything like that. and the same when we decorate it about 24h later, like we never 'show' the decorations to the dogs or in any way try to make them interested in the decorations

She loved sniffing it and sleeping under it on the soft blanket beneath. She haven't touched it besides that.

Hmmm... So maybe have Ludde in another room when we are decorating the tree then?
