Got the diagnosis as soon as I turned 18 and I was so sure I had it but I guess I "grew out of it". I never did any therapy or anything for it. Feels like a lot of teenage girls would meet the criteria for bpd.

Bpd for borderline personality disorder not bipolar but I also don't have bipolar anymore.

Feels good to finally have it gone though. It wasn't talked about they just removed it.

I was supposed to get DBT when I was first diagnosed but I moved so I was removed from the waiting list and not put on another one

ahh yes DBT helped me some, as well as leaving a very toxic relationship. but this past year i've been going to therapy regularly and it's been the most helpful of anything. just being able to find a good therapist sometimes can make things so much better

I could probably have use for some therapy but psych thinks it's easier to just medicate

maybe idk, the feelings i had that i relate to bpd havent gone away but ive "recovered" enough for it to not be a daily issue anymore. but it could be many things, i just relate a lot to what ive read and heard about bpd, but it wouldnt be relevant for me to get it assessed anymore at this point

do you feel like you still have it even though they removed the diagnosis?

No I feel like some of my bpd symptoms were just emotional immaturity that went away as I got older. I was diagnosed bipolar only a year after that diagnosis so maybe that could explain some of it as well.

No I feel like some of my bpd symptoms were just emotional immaturity that went away as I got older. I was diagnosed bipolar only a year after that diagnosis so maybe that could explain some of it as well.
yeah i suspect a lot of the symptoms i had stem from that as well on top of a late autism diagnosis which basically just shook me to my core. im glad i didnt get diagnosed with bpd lol bc then i wouldve never gotten the autism diagnosis, which was and is way more pertinent. maybe bpd should get revised in regards to what actually constitutes bpd and its symptoms so its not so applicable to every teenage girl thats going through something

thats what i mean, maybe the diagnosis criteria for bpd should be revised so its not overdiagnosed so much when its probably not a personality disorder that is the root of the issue and getting a personality disorder might just make it harder to actually get the proper help thats needed
