I think its cus a lot of high waisted pants are just up to the belly button or right below, and not super super high rise like rib highs, so I think the first type is seen as mid rise even tho its high rise rlly in the store, most ppl use those tho idk

ye exactly i feel like the "high rise" jeans i see are just mid rise bc they go below the belly button which imo isnt high rise, its gotta go on the belly button
